🌾 How to Use Mealworm Frass

Frass is more concentrated than worm castings and contains chitin, which helps plants naturally strengthen their defenses.

🌱 Seedlings

• Mix lightly — about 5–10% of soil mix
• Or sprinkle very thin layer on surface

Frass is stronger than castings, so less is more.

🌿 Transplanting

• 1 tablespoon per small plant
• 2–3 tablespoons for larger plants
• Mix into soil, don’t leave concentrated against roots

🪴 Potting Soil Mix

• ½–1 cup per gallon of soil
Mix thoroughly before planting.

🌼 Garden Beds

• 2–4 lbs per 100 sq ft
• Lightly work into top 1–2 inches
• Water in

🍅 Top Dressing

• Sprinkle lightly around plant base
• Keep 1–2 inches away from stem
• Water after application

🌧 Compost

• Sprinkle thin layers between compost additions
• Helps microbial diversity
• Don’t overapply — too much nitrogen can heat compost

🚫 Where Not to Use

• Don’t apply thick layers directly against stems
• Don’t use excessively in very young seed trays
• Avoid over-application in already nitrogen-rich soil
