Monstera Soil Mix – Chunky Aroid Potting Mix for Indoor Plants
Monstera Soil Mix – Chunky Aroid Potting Mix for Indoor Plants
Give your Monstera the airy, chunky growing environment it naturally prefers with our handcrafted Monstera Soil Mix, specially formulated for indoor containers.
Why This Mix Works
Monstera are tropical climbing plants native to Mexico and Central America. In nature, they climb trees and produce aerial roots, allowing their roots to access plenty of air while growing among moisture-holding organic material.
Our Monstera Mix takes those natural growing conditions into account while being formulated for indoor containers. Pine bark and coco husk chips provide structure, airflow, and larger air spaces around the roots, while coco coir and worm castings help retain enough moisture and organic matter without creating a dense, soggy growing medium.
Perlite and pumice further improve drainage and aeration, while horticultural charcoal adds another useful component to this chunky growing mix.
Ingredients
Coco Coir • Pine Bark • Coco Husk Chips • Perlite • Pumice • Horticultural Charcoal • Worm Castings
Best For
Our Monstera potting mix is formulated for:
- Monstera deliciosa
- Monstera deliciosa 'Albo'
- Monstera deliciosa 'Thai Constellation'
- Monstera adansonii
- Other Monstera varieties
- Other tropical plants and aroids that prefer an airy, well-draining growing medium
Suggested Watering
Check the mix before watering rather than following a fixed schedule. Water thoroughly when the top 1–2 inches have begun to dry, then allow excess water to drain completely.
Plants in brighter, warmer conditions may need water more often, while plants in lower light or cooler conditions may need less.

Fertilizing
Feed during active growth with a balanced houseplant fertilizer according to the manufacturer's recommended rate. Reduce feeding during periods of slower winter growth or lower light.
Repotting
Repot when roots begin filling the container, growing from the drainage holes, or when the plant begins drying out much faster than usual. Move to a pot only one size larger to avoid leaving excess wet soil around the roots. After repotting, water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain.
