Fine Particle Size

This finer grade blends easily throughout a potting mix and is a good choice for smaller containers, houseplant mixes, bonsai blends, and mixes where you want added structure without large bark chunks.

Because pine bark is a natural material, individual pieces will vary somewhat in size, shape, thickness, and color. A small amount of material outside the approximate particle-size range may naturally be present.

How to Use

Use pine bark as one component of a custom potting mix. The amount needed will depend on the plant, container, growing environment, and the other ingredients in your blend.

Pine bark can be combined with moisture-retentive ingredients such as coco coir and with aeration or mineral ingredients such as perlite, pumice, calcined clay, or charcoal.

Pine bark is a soil amendment and potting-media component. It is not intended to provide complete plant nutrition on its own.
