Why This Mix Works

Palms grow naturally across tropical and subtropical regions of the world, often in warm environments with organic-rich, well-drained soil. Indoor palms need a balance of moisture and drainage because containers can dry differently depending on light, temperature, humidity, and pot material.

Our Palm Mix is formulated for indoor container growing. Coco coir and worm castings help retain moisture and organic matter, while pine bark, perlite, pumice, and a small amount of horticultural sand improve drainage and maintain air space around the roots.

The result is a balanced growing medium that provides moisture retention while allowing excess water to drain and air to reach the roots.

Suggested Watering

Check the mix before watering rather than following a fixed schedule. Water thoroughly when the top 1–2 inches of the mix have begun to dry, allowing excess water to drain completely.

During active growth, palms generally prefer more consistent moisture. In winter or periods of slower growth and lower light, allow more time between waterings.

Never allow the pot to remain sitting in standing water.
